DAY 1: AUSTRALIA TO DELHI
Fly with Singapore Airlines to Delhi for a two night stay. Adelaide and Darwin passengers may depart one day earlier.
DAY 2: DELHI
Sightseeing begins with a visit to the Red Fort and a walk through Chandni Chowk bazaar to Jama Masjid, India’s largest mosque. You will also have a brief stop at India Gate and visit the Lakshmi Narayan Hindu Temple, Humayun’s Tomb and Connaught Markets.
DAY 3: DELHI TO AGRA
Leave Delhi and drive to Agra, visiting Sikandra en route to see the marble and red sandstone tomb of Emperor Akbar.
DAY 4: AGRA
Rise early to view the impressive Taj Mahal in all its glory at sunrise. The Taj Mahal was built by Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal, whose name meant ‘Chosen One of the Palace’. Witness the marble change colour as the sun rises and discover why this monument to love draws nearly four million visitors a year. Afterwards, visit Agra Fort.
DAY 5: AGRA TO JAIPUR
Travel to Jaipur, stopping at the ghost city of Fatehpur Sikri en route. The next stop is Abhaneri village, to see the Chand Baori stepwell and marvel at this ancient construction. Over 1,000 years old, the visually outstanding stepwell was originally dedicated to Harshat Mata, the ‘Goddess of Joy and Happiness’. Afterwards continue to Jaipur, known as the ‘Pink City’ for the colour of the buildings in the old town.
DAY 6: JAIPUR
Begin with a photo stop at Hawa Mahal, also known as the ‘Palace of the Winds’, before travelling to Amer Fort. Continue to the City Palace, Jantar Mantar Observatory and the local bazaar in Choti Choper.
DAY 7: JAIPUR TO GURGAON
Travel to Delhi. You will stay in Gurgaon, located 30kms from Delhi. Tonight you will experience the ‘Kingdom of Dreams’, a live entertainment destination where you will watch a magical Bollywood performance.
DAY 8: GURGAON – DEPART DELHI
Transfer to Delhi airport for your overnight flight to Australia.
DAY 9: ARRIVE AUSTRALIA
Arrive home today.
