Upon arrival in Rome, your guide will be waiting to transport you to your hotel. At the end of the evening we arrange a transfer to Trastevere area, a great introduction to Rome! A stroll in the narrow cobbled streets of the Trastevere district reveals hidden treasures, such as modest medieval churches, small shops with the most peculiar of objects, or scenes of daily life. Many trattorias (informal Italian eating establishments) and osterias (inns) imbued with the Italian spirit will be ready to serve you local dishes. Other restaurants serving Indian, Chinese, and other international food can be found in this area. Return to the hotel.

In the morning, we have a scenic tour of Rome – a great introduction to ‘The Eternal city’. We enter the tiny state of the Vatican. Vatican City is the world centre of Catholicism. You will be able to visit St. Peter’s Basilica. And we have also included admission to the Roman Colosseum, where gladiators battled wild animals and each other, for the entertainment of the people of Rome. This impressive construction dates back 2,000 years and will transport us in time so that we can learn about ancient society in the Roman Empire. In the evening we provide transport to the Via Cavour area, where you will find restaurants serving Italian, Indian, Chinese and other international food.

Leave Rome, heading north to Florence on a route graced with beautiful landscapes. Upon arrival, head straight to Piazzale Michelangelo, an impressive site in the city. In the evening we provide a tour with a local expert, and walk through the historic centre, taking in places such as the Ponte Vecchio, the Duomo, and Piazza della Signoria. This city is truly an outdoor museum. Enjoy free time at leisure to explore and select a restaurant for dinner.

Today we enjoy stunning mountain landscapes while crossing the Apennine Mountains. Arriving in Venice, board a Vaporetto to travel around the canals of the historic city centre. With a local guide, we will visit the marvellous Saint Mark’s Basilica (entry fee included). Afterwards, visit the Murano Glass Factory, to see the technique with which this ancient commodity is made. Enjoy the rest of the day with free time at leisure, and eat dinner in the Mestre district at a restaurant of your choice.

Depart from Venice, travelling to Verona, Romeo and Juliet’s city – the city of lovers!. We will provide a shuttle from parking to the historic city centre. Then, continue your journey through the mountains to Zurich. Free time in the historic centre next to Lake Zurich, where you will be able to dine in your chosen restaurant serving Italian, Indian, Chinese, international or Swiss food.

Today´s stage reveals beautiful landscapes, with high mountains and scenic lakes. Enjoy breathtaking scenery in the region of Interlaken. In Grindelwald, we will have time for a coffee before taking the cable car up to Grindelwald First (ticket included). Walk along the path (around 30 minutes) and take the ‘footbridge over the empty’ among fantastic scenery, with glaciers all around. Lunch is included (vegetarian option available). Then, continue to Lucerne, one of the most beautiful cities in Switzerland. Enjoy free time at the end of the day to stroll, enjoy the city, and dine before returning to the hotel in Zurich.

Embark on a scenic trip to Bern, capital city of the Swiss confederation. Built around a bend in the Aare River, with its medieval architecture preserved in the Old Town, Bern is a beautiful town to take a stroll in and breathe the fresh air. Next, we journey to France, enjoying beautiful lake views on our trip to Paris. Arrive in the evening.

Today, enjoy a guided tour of Paris to discover the history, the main boulevards, and the breathtaking monuments of the City of Light, finishing at the Eiffel Tower. You will have the opportunity to climb up to the second floor of this remarkable metal monument. Note: Sometimes queues to climb the Eiffel Tower are long. If deemed appropriate, the climb may be made at a different time of day. End the tour with a boat cruise along the River Seine, which divides the north of Paris from the south. Enjoy a free afternoon to explore the city at your leisure. At sunset, transfer to the ‘Quartier Latin’, were you can select from a wide variety of international cuisines, before returning to the hotel.

Today, visit the centre of Paris, in the vicinity of the Louvre Museum, for free time at your leisure. If you wish we can accompany you to Benlux, one of the best-known perfumeries in Paris. At around 5:30 PM we will leave Paris for Rouen, a ‘museum city’ with its houses with half-timbered walls, narrow streets and gothic churches. Check into your hotel to rest.

Depart for the north of France. In Eperlecques we visit a huge bunker in the middle of the forest. From here, Nazi V1 and V2 missiles were fired at the UK. Next, we take a ferry across the English Channel to Canterbury, which has a very attractive historic centre and cathedral. Continue to London, and transfer to Camden, a district famous for having one of the most varied and extravagant street markets in London. Enjoy dinner at one of the numerous and diverse restaurants.

Get to know London on a guided tour that takes in the city’s style, culture and history. See the Houses of Parliament, the River Thames, the Tower of London and Buckingham Palace, where we should, depending on the season, be able to watch the famous changing of the guard. If you wish, you can go on an optional excursion to the London Eye ferris wheel. Late afternoon, after a period of free time, we invite all our travellers to a traditional English afternoon tea. In the evening, stroll through Leicester Square, Chinatown, and Soho, and enjoy the atmosphere of this theatre and entertainment district. Sit down for dinner at a restaurant of your choice.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your return flight/s.
Arrive home today in Australia.
